Free Sermon Clip Maker
Turn any sermon into captioned clips, audio and Instagram carousels, right in your browser.
Sermosaic is a free sermon clip maker that runs in your web browser. Upload a sermon recording (audio or video, any length), pick a moment from the transcript or one of the suggested moments, and download a captioned vertical video, an MP3 clip or an Instagram carousel. No watermark, no clip limit, no install.
A captioned vertical clip made with Sermosaic: word-by-word captions, a title, and calm footage behind the words. Every part of it can be changed.
Is there a free tool to create sermon clips?
Yes. Sermosaic is free to use with your own sermons. You sign in with a code sent to your email (no password), and the one-minute sample works without signing up. Exports have no watermark and there is no monthly clip limit.
One honest limit: videos are made on your own device, so a current computer browser (Chrome, Edge or Safari) works best. Writing out the words is free with no cap; at busy times it can take a little longer. See Pricing for what Free and Pro include.
How do you make short clips for social media from a sermon?
- Upload the sermon. Drop in the recording, audio or video, any length. Sermosaic writes out every word.
- Pick a moment. Use one of the suggested moments, or click the first and last word of any part. You can also join several parts, or cut parts out.
- Choose the look. Vertical 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, square or wide; a caption style; and a background: calm footage, one of the image Looks, your own video, or matching B-roll Sermosaic picks from the words.
- Download. Make the captioned video (MP4), save the audio (MP3), or build an Instagram carousel from the best lines.
- Post. Copy the suggested Instagram caption and post.
Can volunteers use it without video editing experience?
Yes. There is no timeline to learn. You choose a moment by clicking words in the transcript, and the captions, background and footage are added for you. Choices stay simple: a few good options up front, and "Show all" when you want more.
Does it work with audio-only sermons?
Yes. MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and other audio files become captioned videos over calm footage or an image. Video files (MP4, MOV and more) can keep their own picture, landscape or vertical.
Can I upload the entire service, or do I need to trim it first?
Upload the whole service. Sermosaic suggests strong moments across it, and you can pick one part or several parts to join into one clip.
What should a church post from a sermon each week?
- Two or three captioned clips of 30 to 60 seconds, each making one point.
- One Instagram carousel of the key lines (Sermosaic builds it from the sermon and picks a matching look).
- One audio clip for a podcast feed, WhatsApp or a church group chat.
How can I use social media to share the gospel?
Post short, clear moments from real preaching every week, keep the captions large and readable, point people to the full message and your church, and answer comments personally. Consistency matters more than polish.

Is my sermon kept private?
Your file is prepared on your own device. Only a small, compressed speech copy is sent out to be written into words, and the audio is never kept. The written words are saved to your account so your other devices can open the same recording instantly (you can clear them any time). Videos and carousels are made in your browser.
